About the practice •

A surgical practice with a family dentist inside it

Most dental clinics send the hard cases somewhere else. This is the somewhere else. It is also the place your family can come for a cleaning.

Why the clinic exists •

The gap between a dentist and a hospital

There is a group of problems that sit awkwardly in between. A broken cheekbone. A jaw that never lined up. An implant case where the bone has worn away. A lump in the mouth that needs looking at properly.

A general dental clinic is not set up for these. A large hospital will treat them, but often with a long wait and very little conversation. Pathak Dental N Medical Care was built to sit in that gap: specialist surgical care, given in a clinic small enough that the surgeon actually knows your name.

The everyday work matters just as much. Fillings, cleanings, root canals and children’s check ups are all done here, by the same standards.

Precision surgery. Compassionate care. Confident smiles. That is not a slogan we picked because it sounded good. It is the order the three things happen in.

The clinic’s daily territory: teeth, jaws, the joint they hinge on, and the bone that holds all of it together.

The surgeon •

Dr Ashutosh Dutt Pathak

BDS, MDS in oral and maxillofacial surgery, FIDE fellowship. More than 13 years in practice.

Dr Pathak completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Indore CDSH College in 2008, then his Master of Dental Surgery in oral and maxillofacial surgery at PCDS College, Bhopal in 2013. He later completed a FIDE fellowship, which is advanced structured training beyond the master’s degree.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a small specialty and a wide one. It covers the mouth, the jaws, the jaw joint, the face, the neck and the skull. In one week Dr Pathak might rebuild a jaw after a road accident, remove a cyst, place implants for someone who has been in dentures for a decade, and see a child with a chipped front tooth.

What connects all of it is planning. Scans and measurements come before any decision, and the plan is explained to you before anything is done. If a treatment is unlikely to give you the result you are hoping for, he will say so rather than take the case.

Training and qualifications

How treatment is decided •

Seven things that do not change

Whether it is a filling or a six hour reconstruction, these hold.

Evidence, not habit

Treatment is chosen because the research supports it, not because it is what the clinic has always done.

A plan made for you

Two people with the same missing tooth can need two different solutions. Your bone, your bite and your budget all change the answer.

Comfort taken seriously

Anaesthetic given time to work, gentle technique, and honest information about recovery so nothing surprises you later.

Sterilisation without shortcuts

A full instrument cycle for every patient, with standards set by a microbiologist rather than by convention.

Nothing hidden

Costs in writing before treatment starts. If something is not needed, you will be told it is not needed.

Help brought in when required

Complex cases are handled alongside orthodontists, physicians and pathologists rather than alone.

Safety •

The part you never see

Every instrument that touches you has been through a five stage cycle, and the sealed pouch is opened in front of you at the chair.

Surfaces are wiped down between patients, single use items are genuinely single use, and the autoclave is tested regularly rather than assumed to be working. Dr Preeti Pathak, who holds an MD in microbiology, sets these protocols and reviews them.

Scrub, ultrasonic clean, sealed and dated pouch, autoclave, opened at the chair.

Come and talk it through

Bring your reports, your scans and your questions. A consultation costs you an hour and tells you exactly where you stand.
